We had Jam with them :P Soooo goood!

ONE MONTH Complete

T.G.I.F!

(I'm starting to slack on the photo taking. Luckily, if Niall is around I can at least use his iPhone)

Today Niall decided to take us out to dinner since it's Friday, I've finished my first full working week, and I've been here one month today :)
We decided to have some delicious Pizza Express

We both ordered the "Diavolo" Pizza which comes with loads of peppers :)
Of course Niall being a weirdo, his was cheese-less.

Outside Pizza Express.
We took those little stairs on the left side up to the bridge.
On our way here we walked through the tunnel...which has these awesome lit up strips of sparkly multi colored lights on the sidewalk. You can see them here a little (It's the glowy blue light on the ground)

I tried taking a closer photo but you can only capture so much on a camera phone at night :/

This was London a looooong time ago.
This part of London is now called "The City of London"
It's only a little over a square mile and there is sooooo much history here.
It goes back to the Romans, Anglo Saxons, etc.
When entering the "City of London" you get these cool dragons

Anyway. Looking down at London Bridge Station.
You can see the training going past on top. Can you see it?

OK. So when Melissa and I first came to London, the first main train station we walked into was Kings Cross. When we walked in, there was this huge room with people all looking up in the same direction.
It looked like they were hypnotized! It's a weird and funny image. Just picture hundreds of people all looking in the same direction. We were thinking what the heck is everyone looking at???
Well, in order to know what platform you have to get on for your specific train, you have to look at this timetable that tells you where to go.
There's many of them and I still can't figure them out! This is one of the smaller ones:
Oh and as if this wasn't confusing enough, everything is in military time! ugh.
One of these days I'll snap a photo of the opposite view ;)

First Day at the Job

I signed up with an awesome temp agency (Office Angels) while I look for a permanent job.
Within days they placed me somewhere, and even better it's only 10 minutes down the street from Niall's work.
Today was my first day and I was a little nervous not knowing what to expect.
Not being a morning bird AT ALL, I managed to get up on time and even have breakfast :)
We walked to the train station together, took the same train and Niall walked me to work . I even arrived 10 minutes early!
My nerves went away quickly as I met my new colleagues. Very nice people.
The job itself is not bad. I get to speak to all sorts of people and work on my accent deciphering ;)
Then for lunch, since we're so close, Niall and I got to hang out and eat our packed lunches together, share stories of our day and then head back to finish work.
After, I walked to his job and we headed back home together...but not before stopping at the shop first and picking up a few groceries.

We didn't get the following 2 items but I couldn't help taking photos.

"Very Lazy Red Chillies"

"Put some music in your food"

Walking back to the station. You can see The Shard being built

It's gonna look like this <-click on link

Day Twenty-five

Another Saturday at the Lewisham Market.
This is becoming a weekend tradition.
We didn't plan on it on the way there but we ended up going grocery shopping. Then had to carry the heavy bags home and I thought my arms were going to fall off!  We took a bus home which happened to be completely packed and we had to stand. Trying to keep my balance and not fall on anyone while holding heavy groceries was tricky.  It was almost like a roller-coaster ride.
This older couple was sitting down next to us and I was kind of giggling at the ridiculous situation; I think that's why the older lady kept smiling at me.  Niall was afraid to fall on them.

Oh and by the way, it's been raining today!
(It's only rained twice in the three weeks I have been here)
It felt refreshing walking in the rain :) I'm loving it.

Niall decided to make some soup when we got home.
He's never made soup before.
To be honest, I'm not crazy about soup so I was kinda nervous. Haha.

I took a peek and he had carrots and habaneros in the pan.
Hmmm...

Ok. So it doesn't exactly look pretty, and it doesn't help that a spilled it a bit when I was moving the bowl to take a photo.
BUT
It was the best soup I have ever had!!
Soooooo goooooooooooooooood
It was perfectly spicy and oh so very tasty.
I would have never guessed it was his first time making a soup from scratch.
Im a fan.

After, we headed out to the garden to feed the bird/squirrel feeder.
You can only get to the garden from our bedroom :)
I haven't gone out there at all. This was my first time.
I loved opening these doors and walking down the wet, mossy, stone steps.

Train tracks run right through the back.
We find it relaxing hearing the train pass by so often.

Oh look at that! I train happened to go by as we were checking out the area

View of our flat from the garden

I think the deck is calling out for a BBQ Party this summer ;)

When I first arrived, these were just weird looking buds. I thought they were some sort of onion.
Now the daffodils have bloomed!
So pretty huh?
The yellow is such a nice contrast to the gloomy English weather.

Day Twenty-two

It was a nice clear day today.
View out our kitchen window

Mum got us some nice new gardening supplies.
Ok, really they're more for Niall.
You know I'm not gonna be dealing with the bugs outside!

Was a very interesting 1 hour segment :)
(I love that there are no commercials!)
